Neophyte
In 1998 my daughter was born just before I began work on the 6 new pieces for the release. Having a child is a wonderful
experience, don't get me wrong, but a very drastic change indeed!! At first I didn't handle it well as I was too afraid of
having to give up parts of my life that I did not wish to... come to find out later that it's a matter of compromise. There was
anxiety for me in having a child at first and it is heard here in this song. The name 'neophyte' itself means beginner, and I
was exactly that.
